A Golden Today

I often wonder will today be the day the breakthrough comes?  It has been a difficult six months of growth. Amongst the heartache I see beauty, like sunsets that remind He is near. It gives me hope, sometimes just enough to keep going.

I am looking for so much more from my life.  I want His all, not mine which I have settled for far too often.  I will not back off the precipice He has brought me to out of fear.  No!  I will take the necessary step into the unknown and trust He will be who He says He is.

Here is my sincere hope for the future.

A Golden Today

Is today the day it will begin?
when I finally feel change within
know that You do understand
are always here to hold my hand
I can let go the unrelenting stress
believe you'll cure this mess
I know this is to increase my trust
breaking through a hard heart crust
removing the rot, the unwanted
to one day reveal true gold
let Him dig deep into my heart
bend, mold me into His perfect art.

Life has difficult areas that don't seem fixable or good, things I pray daily would be removed from me.  That prayer hasn't been answered and I am being expected to walk a path I don't like or choose. A path that is invisible due to the fog of angst.  It has been excruciating.

My nine year old watched The Lorax this weekend and one line got me: It isn't about what it is but what it can become.  Hope bloomed a bit with the thought that these areas will heal into something far stronger then they are now.  I will one day see the fog lifted away.

It isn't about the seen
or about where I've been
it is about what's to come
coming together to create the sum
it is about learning to grow
giving God's word a good sow
trusting in Him to lead my way
in all I do and in this life say.
